When I entered Year 7, I was an introverted, quiet kid, unsure of myself and content to stay in the background. Speaking in front of others seemed like an impossible task, and I never imagined I'd take on leadership roles. But over time, something in me began to change.
It all started when I decided to push myself beyond my comfort zone and try out for a student leadership position. At first, the thought of standing up in front of my peers was terrifying, but I soon understood that leadership wasn't about being perfect—it was about growth, connection, and making a difference.
Through hard work, determination, and a willingness to learn, I went on to become a College Captain, House Captain, and Student Council Representative. These roles pushed me to develop confidence in myself and my abilities. I learned how to lead with empathy, communicate effectively, and inspire others to believe in themselves, too.
Looking back, I’m amazed at how much I've transformed. Leadership didn’t just give me a title—it gave me the opportunity to grow, not just as a leader, but as a person. I went from a shy, uncertain kid to someone who believes in their ability to make an impact. And if I can do it, anyone can.
Leadership, at its core, is about stepping into your power and helping others discover theirs. It's a journey of self-discovery, and for me, it's been a life-changing experience.
“When life presents an opportunity, seize it—only then will you truly see the difference it can make.”
